Accident victims have so many questions after a wreck. Luckily, if your car accident happens in Bellingham or any other place in Washington State, you’ve probably got PIP on your side. PIP stands for Personal Injury Protection and is required by state law to be offered by all insurance companies covering Washington drivers. It will pay for your medical bills if you are injured. In fact, it pays for those injuries regardless of who is determined to be at fault. When you work with a lawyer, together you’ll seek to recover those funds from the at-fault driver, if that person(s) is not you.

In Washington, PIP covers $10,000 in medical bills and $10,000 in wage loss. If you have this coverage, it means that you get your bills paid first then sort out fault later. For more on PIP from the Department of Motor Vehicle’s website, click here.
