As a personal injury lawyer, I’ve seen it all. Broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, whiplash – these are just a few of the terrible injuries that thousands of pounds of metal and plastic colliding with human bodies can create. In the hours or days after an accident, what’s the most important thing to do? It seems obvious – seek medical attention for all injuries – but you’d be surprised how many clients don’t do this. They try to tough it out, sometimes waiting several weeks before seeing a doctor. Doctors then have to play catch-up, which is never an ideal scenario when treating injuries.

Even if you’re not bleeding or feeling sharp pain, go to the doctor as soon as possible. Document from head to toe what injuries you sustained in the accident. Don’t wait or worry about what insurance will cover, or try to convince yourself you’re okay. The most critical thing is to get the care you need.
