Bill Coats Law is growing! Recently, Bill brought on a new lawyer, Tiffany Bailey, for his expanding practice.

A little background info on  you – where you went to school and why you chose to become a lawyer?
I received my Bachelor of Arts in English in May 2012 from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.  In May of 2015, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from New England Law – Boston. I was the first person in my family to graduate from college.

I chose to become an attorney because I find law fascinating. The challenge and complexity of the legal system inspires me to excel. Also, I want to help people. Personal injury law combines the best of both worlds.

What brought you to Bellingham?
Good question.  It was most likely because I couldn’t deal with another Boston winter. After suffering though last winter’s public transportation nightmares, the unavailability of street parking, and the fact that I was essentially living in a cardboard box that was costing me almost as much as my tuition to law school, I was ready to be as far away as possible. My boyfriend and I researched Universal Bar Exam states and decided on Washington after consulting one of our professors.  We spoke with students that had previously graduated from our law school that currently lived/worked in the Bellingham area, and their only regret was not moving out here sooner.

What’s your favorite part of the practice of personal injury law?
Dealing with insurance companies and knowing that the clients we represent do not have to.  I also enjoy knowing that we are helping individuals who have suffered injuries and deserve compensation for those injuries.

What do you like to do outside the office?
I enjoy exploring Bellingham and the State of Washington (I’ve never lived anywhere near real mountains, so everything is brand new to me), trying out new restaurants (the food scene in Boston was mediocre, at best), and spending time with my boyfriend at our apartment, usually watching football on Sundays (NO. I am NOT a Patriots Fan.) I also love all animals, especially my English Bulldog, Molly, who currently resides with my parents in Florida.
