This Friday, May 18th, is Bellingham’s Bike to Work and School Day. It’s a way to celebrate those who opt for a bike for their commutes regularly, and encourage new bike commuters in a fun event. Throughout the city there are “celebration stations” where commuters can eat something delicious, grab a coffee and meet fellow cyclists on their way to and from work and school. You can find a map of Bellingham’s stations here and link to the fun activities offerred. Bicycle commuting is a great way to get around, and Bellingham is one of the most bike-friendly cities.
Bill Coats Law is Bellingham’s top bicycle accident attorney. He has recovered $1.6 million in damages for a veterinarian who experienced a terrible bike accident in Lynden.
Here are three easy tips for bike commuters to get to your destination safely:
- “Use a lid”: Wear a bike helmet for every ride.
- “Use a light”: Read this post on how to select the right light for nighttime bike rides
- “Use layers”: Wear the right clothing for any weather.
