Let’s say you’re in an accident, and you’ve just gotten out of surgery. It’s time to stay in bed and recuperate, doctor’s orders. Would reading through hundreds of pages of insurance policy documentation be the preferred way to spend your bedrest? It sure beats Ambien, but I imagine the mental stress from figuring out the legalese would add some time to your healing period. This is why there are personal injury lawyers – so you don’t have to take a law class when you could be watching Back To The Future.

In law school and in my twenty years + experience in personal injury law, I learned how to dig into these documents, and what to look for, so you don’t have to. One of the intricacies of insurance policies is that while accident victims often are told is once they’ve gotten their claim settlement check, they’ve got to pay their insurer back for medical expenses they covered. That can certainly carve a big chunk out of that check. Of course, there are exceptions in the fine print. I recorded this video to talk about what those exceptions can mean to the money you can keep from your insurance claim. And for those who may be a unionized employee, there is another kind of set of insurance policy complexities and their accompanying loopholes I can tell you about in this video.

If you ever find yourself in this situation, or a friend or loved one is, please don’t hesitate to call me. It doesn’t even have to be in a dire case, sometimes even minor injuries can set off a chain of questions. That’s what I’m here for. All initial consultations are free, and I don’t take any fees until your case settles. Find me here, call me at 360-303-0601 or send a message through the chat feature in the lower corner of this page.
