Perils of Inexperienced Drivers Changing Lanes in Bellingham Washington

It wasn’t until my daughter was learning to drive that I realized how much “muscle” memory is involved.  Changing lanes, for instance, requires many actions that experienced drivers do without even realizing it.  Let’s say that you are traveling down Holly Street in Bellingham Washington and will be turning left onto State Street.  Not only do you put your signal light on, check your mirror and glance quickly over your shoulder, you simultaneously scan the flow of traffic ahead of you.  This is done before you have even changed lanes and within a second, the whole situation can change: a parked car enters your lane or the cars in front stop/slow down because of a pedestrian, red light or various other reasons. These and other scenarios are why new drivers have an abundance of conditions to become one.  For information regarding requirements to obtain a first-time Washington State license, click here:WSDOL
